North Dorset Parliamentary Constituency

The North Dorset Parliamentary Constituency was created in 1885 and its boundaries have been altered a number of times since.

The constituency lies to the north-west of the Christchurch/Bournemouth/Poole conurbation. It is a large rural constituency stretching from Stalbridge in the west to Verwood in the east and from Blandford Forum in the south to Shaftesbury and Gillingham in the north.

Verwood is its largest town and the most central is the market town of Blandford Forum.  

The constituency is wholly contained within the new Dorset Council area that comes into being on 1st April 2019.
